Prophetic Time Line Continued

He then continues with more details of the future events that will lead up to His visible return at the end of this present age. He does not explain to them that they would not personally be present during the coming 70th week which has been delayed until the fullness of the Gentiles are added. [Romans 11]

The start date of this period is still yet future and is not revealed in scripture. It is a time [date] that He has not revealed. [Matthew 24:36 & 25:13]

He also told his followers that some of them would not taste physical death before they would see Him in His glorified state that He now possesses. [Matthew 16:28]

He said that they would see Him "coming in His kingdom". There are some who take this expression out of context to claim that His second coming was in the first century and that all prophecy of the 70th week has been fulfilled.

But, six days later, after He told them this truth, they were with Him and He was transfigured before them. They observed this transformation which gave them a visible view of His future glorified body and they heard God speak saying that this was indeed His Son. [Matthew 17:1-8]

This event happened exactly as He had stated and was before He went to the cross and then left the material world. His second advent is scheduled and will take place at the end of this present age ... He has purpously delayed His return.

There is another statement made by the Lord prior to sending His apostles to begin preaching the "coming of His kingdom".

He told them that they would not reach all of the cities of Israel before His kingdom would come (the invisible kingdom of believers to be revealed at the time of the end). He is referring here to His first coming, not His second coming.

His first coming was marked by revealing Himself as the Son of God including His entry into Jerusalem, His crucifixion, His resurrection, His appearance to some of them, and the subsequent sending of His Holy Spirit.

The apostles were to preach this and they did not reach all of the cities in Israel before the above events took place.

So His present kingdom on earth is an invisible one that exists in the minds and spirits of believers. His literal millennial kingdom on earth will be established at His second coming.

His second advent [the day of the Lord] is yet future and will begin without warning and will include all of the events of the 70th week decreed for Israel leading up to His visible appearance on the earth .... and
