I think my earlier post still works for this one. You expect a little much, as they were still people. I've not said they couldn't have done more, or they did too less. I just stated a fact. Do you not think it was at least a little bit brave to stand against such a fearsome opponent, if even secretly? It's easy to say, "Oh, well, they should have done more" in the comfort of your house or wherever. It's another thing to have a military juggernaut the next country over, with the wrong political maneuver threatening to send you into despotism.

I think your apparent understanding and skewed expectations are probably another factor in your atheism, as well as that ego. What would you have done during that time? You and I would probably have died, like the millions of others sent off to war. Thank God that you live in an outwardly peaceful time as this.

If i was the pope i would gladly sacrifice my life to save a potential thousands/millions. Especially if god was on my side.

If the pope's faith (or any other religious person) were real, why would they fear death at the hands of the evil Nazis? In modern times, the elderly tend to be the most religious, and they spend the most money on staving off the cold hand of death. But if God's kingdom awaits you, why take any measures to prevent death? You have nothing to fear, right? Sure.
