If you are going to homeschool....

...then you really ought to consider the services of the Home School Legal Defense. If you have never heard of them they are at http://www.hsdla.org They basically will back you up on everything you encounter, such as when the State or local school board tries to overstep their jurisdiction. I have ...

Re: What about Co-Sleeping?

I have always been afraid when my wife has the baby in bed with us. Nothing bad has ever happened, but I always think she is going to roll over on him. Nevertheless, we do believe in doing everything possible to not have the baby in bed with us, because they become dependent upon sleeping in the bed...

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

Adding to Matt's list (from Holly)... Genesis 29:33 She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, "Because the LORD heard that I am not loved, he gave me this one too." So she named him Simeon. Psalm 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the wom...

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

"Behold now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing" (Gen. 16:2). "And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife...I will...give thee a son" (Gen. 17:15-16). "Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his [Abimelech's] wife, and his maidservants; and they ba...

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

lizzy,

The Bible specifically mentions that God is in control of conception. You are comparing apples and oranges with your seatbelt comparison. This thread is about "is it Biblical"... not what is the current scientific theory of the day.

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

I think alot of you are forgetting who is in control of conception. Is it God? Totally, truly? Yes. Or is it yourself...is it convenient for me? So then why should you interfere? Unless it is suicide, proven , or murder, for yourself and your baby's life (and I totally agree there are situations lik...

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

If God really had felt strongly about it, then I don't think you would have to grasp at straws here. There is no indication that something like James described above is unbiblical. If there were no indication then we wouldn't be having this discussion, and there wouldn't be an entire book with a la...

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

James, When I am talking about family planning I am referring to abstaining for the period of time when you are most likely to conceive. I would assume that we would (or should) all believe that birth control pills are wrong. The 9 month thing is something that doctors recommend. But they also recom...

Re: Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

James, I am not sure why you are arguing a case about whether or not sex is just meant for children. My question had nothing to do with that. But in order to do "family planning" you have to abstain from sex. That is what "family planning" is all about; both of you abstain from o...

Is "Family Planning" Biblical?

1Cor.7 4The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife. 5Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan te...

Re: It Aint 'bout no Race, Yo!

It's good to point out that she was out of line, and deserved to be punished. When one associates her behavior with her color, then it slides into racism. Unfortunately we are still confronted with both problems. It would be wrong to say that someone committed the act solely based on their skin col...

Right, except they aren't "liberals", they are socialists. Liberal implies Liberty, which socialists are not in favor of.
