Re: Creation of Heaven and Earth

Aduro, I have tried to get Lightfoot to read him myself. No luck. Would you be so kind as to try? Sailhamer claims to follow Lightfoot. Jordan references, but does not dispute, Sailhamer's claim about Lightfoot. Given the rest of Jordan's claims, if Sailhamer had misrepresented Lightfoot, Jordan wou...

Re: Creation of Heaven and Earth

Lightfoot believed In a gap between Gen. 1:1 & 1:3 and believed Gen. 1:3ff was a local creation is Palestine. Lightfoot's first day was after the gap. John Sailhamer, Genesis Unbound , p 216. James Jordan, Creation in Six Days , and online here http://reformed-theology.org/ice/newslet/bc...

Re: Creation of Heaven and Earth

Aduro, Tell me, what is the purpose of long ages? If not for evolution, where do you get them? And don't say "dating methods," as those beg the question of evolution. Why, JLVaughn, do you need long ages? Evolution requires long ages and therefore evolutionists expect them, which leads us ...

Re: Burden of Proof

Jeramiah, I asked if you wanted to restate your question or try to clarify it. Do you? Do you want to reiterate your point? Productive conversation... or name calling? What's it going to be? I thought that was a rhetorical device on your part. To support your claim that I am dealing with "trust...

Re: Creation of Heaven and Earth

Aduro, 1. I never did claim to be an expert on everything Charles Spurgeon ever said. ;) I recalled some incidence where it was said he had some inclination to evolutionary thought and out it went. Again, you have falsely made long ages equivalent to "evolutionary thought." But if you look...

Re: Henry Morris - Father of Modern Creation Movement

Shotgun,

The point of this post is not to call into question Morris or modern YECism, but to call into question the constant claim that modern YECism is what the Church has essentially always taught.

Would you care to re-evaluate your concerns on that basis?

Re: Re:

OldDad, In Revelation, the Heavens and Earth being the old covenant people and the Sea being the foreigners is plain vanilla full preterism. What I have added is applying that to Genesis. I will grant you that in a few places in the Scriptures that the word "sea" can be interpreted as &quo...

Re: Dinosaurs ....

Just, Welcome. I can't tell whether or not you are being sarcastic. Personally, I don't trust Answers in Genesis. When it comes to history, they are a revisionist outfit, as bad or worse than any liberals. http://beyondcreationscience.com/index.php?pr=Why_Doesnt_Answers_in_Genesis_Tell_Y...

Henry Morris - Father of Modern Creation Movement

Henry Morris is widely recognized as the father of the modern creation science movement. What does it mean to be the "father" of something? Before Henry Morris, there was no such thing as a young-earth creationism movement. After and because of Henry Morris, there was. Henry M. Morris is w...

Re: Burden of Proof

Jeramiah,

Everything you said is proven false by Aduro's claims on the other thread.

Re: Creation of Heaven and Earth

You are so angry you can't think straight. AiG's hero, Charles Spurgeon is a counter-example of your claim here. He was an old-earther of some sort. Are you accusing him of borrowing his worldview from the "atheistic rationalists?" Yes you are. This is faulty logic. Because a Christian cl...
