American Vision's Web site Rises in Rankings

The American Vision web site, www.AmericanVision.org, has been growing in popularity since its overhaul in the fall of 2004. We've been watching it move steadily up the traffic ranking charts during the past three years. Since last month, our site has jumped 109,039 points to rank #368,792 out of all web sites worldwide. Since there are literally billions of web sites around the world, we are encouraged.

One way to ascertain the ranking of a specific web site is to visit www.Alexa.com and enter the web address of the site you are researching. Alexa's unparalleled database of information and web site statistics can give you a site's traffic ranking and more.

To give you some context for American Vision's ranking, consider Alexa's rankings for the following organizations:

As thankful as we are about this progress we are far from satisfied. At the mid-year board of directors meeting, several measures proposed by management to dramatically improve and expand the Internet ministry of American Vision were heartily approved.

One of the proposals was to hire a dedicated and talented couple, Chris and Michele Smith, to take over the daily management of the web site and expand it to new levels. With their experience and skills as well as the help of our good friend Brian Dempsey at Bright Tribe, we expect the American Vision web site to rise into the top 100,000 web sites in the world. Reaching new people and engaging them with the life-transforming power of God's Word is possible to a much greater degree because of the Internet. And the more people we reach, the more our rankings will rise. Rankings are one tangible way of measuring the effectiveness of our web ministry.
