"Hate
Speech" – A One-Way Street

Liberal pundit Al Franken suggested to David Letterman
that “[Lewis ‘Scooter’]
Libby and Karl Rove are going to be executed” because they supposedly
outed a CIA agent, a treasonous offense. Franken qualified his statement
somewhat, possibly after considering the implications of what he had
just said: “Yeah. And I don’t know how I feel about it because
I’m basically against the death penalty, but they are going to
be executed it looks like.” Franken later suggested that President
Bush is at risk of receiving the same punishment, since Karl Rove likely
told him what he did, but he added a caveat: “I think, by the way,
that we should never ever, ever, ever execute a sitting President.” It’s
OK for Franken to say this because he’s a liberal. There’s
no need to cover the remarks in a front-page story in daily newspapers
because Franken is a propagandist of and for the Left.
Dr.
Kamau Kambon, a former visiting professor of African Studies at North
Carolina State University in Raleigh in 2004, told a panel at Howard
University Law School on October 14th of this year that white people “have
retina scans, they have what they call racial profiling, DNA banks, and
they’re monitoring our people to try to prevent the one person
from coming up with the one idea. And the one idea is, how we are going
to exterminate white people, because that in my estimation is the only
conclusion I have come to. We have to exterminate white people off the
face of the planet to solve this problem.” White people, he said,
had set up an “international plantation” for blacks, which
made “every white person on earth a plantation master. . . . You’re
either supporting white people in their process of death, or you’re
for African liberation.”
Homosexual
and pro-abortion groups have attacked Christians for using heated rhetoric
because, as they tell it, it leads to violence against members of these
groups. If it is suggested that abortion is murder and homosexuality
is a perverted sexual lifestyle, then there may be some people out there
who will carry out violent acts against people from the singled-out groups.
Such rhetoric must be silenced under a new fiat law called “hate
speech” legislation. It’s not enough to punish someone for
murder. If the murderer happens to kill someone from a protected class,
whether racial, sexual, or abortion related, then additional punishments
are tacked on. Former president Bill Clinton commented that “All
Americans deserve protection from hate.” The Anti-Defamation League
(ADL) tells it this way:
All Americans have a stake in an effective response
to violent bigotry. Hate crimes demand a priority response because
of their special emotional and psychological impact on the victim
and the victim's community. The damage done by hate crimes cannot
be measured solely in terms of physical injury or dollars and cents.
Hate crimes may effectively intimidate other members of the victim's
community, leaving them feeling isolated, vulnerable and unprotected
by the law. By making members of minority communities fearful, angry
and suspicious of other groups—and of the power
structure that is supposed to protect them—these incidents
can damage the fabric of our society and fragment communities.
But all Americans are not treated
the same. Only certain “minority
communities” that have gained political identity are offered hate
crime protection. If a white person is killed after following Dr. Kamau
Kambon’s counsel, there won’t be any added punishment. Blacks
can’t exhibit hatred toward whites. Perversions in the law don’t
recognize a hate-crime category for such behavior. Hate Crime legislation
is a farce and a danger to a free society. Where have the media been
on this story? They jumped all over Bill Bennett for an analogy to show
the absurdity of liberal reasons for abortion, but have remained silent
when a black man, a professor in a tax-payer funded college, calls for
the extermination of white people.
